Niko's Lab
Basement level 9 of the temple doesn’t have ravens. In fact, it barely has any people at all. Far from the carefully tended gardens and dazzling pavilions, the basement levels, especially the lower ones, are pretty unwelcoming spaces. There is nowhere to hide from the harsh white lights that illuminates the narrow hallways and low ceilings of the supplementary research laboratories - and the arcane generators have a buzz that modulates just often enough that it never quite fully recedes into background noise. Nikolai Clark, age 29, graduate student (8th year - thrice detained) has submitted multiple complain letters to facilities regarding the noise - on account of his migraines you see. His lab at the end of the hall is a mess - bits of broken impact sensors and arcane capacitors are pushed up under tables and against the sterile walls. He stands now over a desk, kneading his throbbing forehead, and squinting through his glasses at an array of guages and displays. He looks like he might cry. In the middle of the room, a second figure stands over a shiny new arcane dynamo...
