Abandoned City
Once domesticated dogs barking in the distance. Woodpeckers pecking away at trees. A small babbling brook that has taken up residence in the centre of the once-bustling city. You hear all this and more. "Welcome to Ornamentis," you think bitterly to yourself, "welcome to my home." Ever since some strange event happened, an event that you don't even know how to begin to describe, the city that you called home for the past fourteen years has gone. One damned October night, everyone, for reasons that are far beyond you, got up and left. Just walked out. Now you're the only one left, and you have been for quite some time.
Or...Are you? Looking down from your perch on the balcony of a high building, you spot some fresh footprints marking the wet, muddy creekbed, and they definitely aren't yours.
